Summer Reading Program



2017 REGISTRATION is CLOSED!
























































The 2016 Summer Reading Program was a success and all those who participated had a wonderful time. There were 50 children from ages 4 to 12 who participted in a number of activities including field trips to Kids Fun City in North York and The Police Safety Village in Stouffville.




Did You Know:


- All young people experience Learning Loss when they do not

  engage in learning activities in the summer


- 2/3s of the reading gap can be explained by unequal access

  to summer learning opportunities  


- MACCA's Summer Reading Program provides affordable access

  to quality summer learning programs


What


Summer Reading Camp invites children to explore the wonderful world of reading through a variety of interesting and interactive mediums. The summer will hold fascinating stories, fun games and activities, engaging heritage trips, and educational opportunities to explore the written word through role play, word games, contests and more. If you want your child to have fun AND learn this is the camp for you!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED


We are looking for students to work as volunteers in the Summer Reading Program.  Preference will be given to grade 9 to 12 students.
